Heartbreaking Braves Update: Jackson Stephens Departure, Drake Baldwin’s WBSC Premier12 Disappointment, and More News…

In keeping with their trend of cost-cutting, the Braves non-tendered five players on Friday, potentially saving $13 million on payroll.

at addition to saying that they are attempting to save money because they believe there will be “some opportunities” coming summer, Alex Anthopoulos has stated that payroll will increase this offseason (although at a press conference with several claims that have already been shown to be untrue).

The challenge is figuring out what those opportunities might be, and if history is any guide, there might be some surprises. However, in recent years, the team has also been more willing to pay a large free agency contract, so maybe this year will see a more traditional offseason splash for theBraves, with a few desirable choices in roster-fitting positions.
