Athens, GA – In a devastating blow to the Georgia Bulldogs’ football program, star linebacker, Nolan Smith, suffered a career-ending injury during Saturday’s game against the Tennessee Volunteers.
Smith, a junior and projected first-round NFL draft pick, went down in the third quarter with a non-contact injury to his ACL and MCL. Initial diagnoses confirmed the worst, ending Smith’s collegiate career.
“We’re heartbroken for Nolan,” said Georgia Head Coach, Kirby Smart. “He’s an exceptional player and an even better person. His leadership and talent will be deeply missed.”
SMITH’S IMPACT ON THE TEAM
